Ark Food Bank Lagos was founded in 2023, and it has quickly become a beacon of hope for families struggling with food insecurity. Established by Isaiah Macwealth, whose prophetic foresight into the coming days of food scarcity propelled him to take action, the food bank is dedicated to storing, processing, and distributing food to those in need across Lagos and its environs.
At its core, Ark Food Bank is built on the mission of ensuring that no family is left hungry. It has served thousands of people in multiple communities—particularly the elderly, women, and children—who are often the most vulnerable during times of economic hardship.
One of its most impactful initiatives is the Ark Food Bank Open Pantry, held quarterly, where families are given FREE food and relief materials. These events have grown in scale and impact over time:
December 2023 edition – over 1,500 families fed
March 2024 edition – over 1,500 families fed
September 2024 edition – over 2,500 families fed
December 2024 edition – over 3,000 families fed
June 2025 edition – over 3,000 families fed
Through these Open Pantry events, Ark Food Bank has proven to be more than just a food distribution center—it is a community lifeline. Each edition not only provides nourishment but also restores dignity and hope to families facing dire circumstances.
The journey of Ark Food Bank Lagos highlights the importance of foresight, compassion, and collective action in addressing hunger. As it continues to expand its reach, the food bank stands as a testament to what is possible when vision meets humanity’s deepest needs.
At the heart of this philanthropist, Isaiah Macwealth, is a strong emphasis on being one’s brother’s keeper. Hence, the numerous and profound investment in charity.
In the network of his charity efforts are at least 10 expressions which cater for the needs of destitutes including women and children.
